Here’s a little inside scoop for my readers. You are invited to attend the opening night of The Exile Poster Project on April 26 from 6-9 p.m. at the Imago Art Space.
The Exile Poster Project seeks to confront specific areas of injustice and oppression in Portland through the powerful medium of the poster. The annual show features work from professional local artists. This year’s show partners with the community response of CSEC and will focus on raising awareness of the commercial sexual exploitation of children.
Listen up fellow bloggers: This is the opening night by exclusive invite and will include interview and photo opportunities with the artists as well as representatives from The Exile Project. So come with your flip cams, cameras and a pad of paper. There will be lots of great content to record and share with your readers. As Ghandi said, “Be the change you wish to see,” and invite your readers to come to the formal opening on May 5th.
Community members are invited to the formal opening of the exhibit for “First Thursday,” May 5 from 6-9 p.m. All proceeds from the sale of the art will benefit the Victims Assistance Fund through the Sexual Assault Resource Center of Portland.
The Imago Art Space is located at 512 NW 9th Street, in the heart of Portland’s Pearl District.
This is an incredibly important issue for the world and for the city of Portland. Advocacy is vital. Hope to see you there!
