Criticism surrounding the Kony 2012 campaign from Invisible Children mounted quickly (I even got a comment from my last post here) and I am impressed with IC’s response. Staff from IC have made numerous media appearances in the last week and IC also added a section of its website specifically addressing this criticism.
Invisible Children CEO Ben Keesey released this video on Sunday and I think it does a nice job of acknowledging some people’s concerns, while shedding light on IC’s solutions. It is respectful, genuine and provides complete transparency. It is refreshing when the statements we often see from company leaders are arrogant, fake and disconnected. Example: Rush Limbaugh’s half-assed apology last week.

One of the Directors of Invisible Children, Zachary Barrows on the show “Today” in Australia gave an interview addressing some of the most common concerns that have arisen. You can watch the video here.
Do you think IC’s efforts were effective? Genuine?
