The Olympics are up and running and I’ve already been enjoying so many of the events! Have you ever watched competitive badminton? They can jump SO high and they are SO quick! Really impressive.

Out of more than 500 US athletes, 10 of those are alumni from the University of Oregon! To no surprise, eight of them are on the track and field team.

Here they are:

Ashton Eaton: Competes in the decathlon. Broke the world record in Eugene this spring at the Olympic Trials. You can follow him on Twitter.

Matthew Centrowitz: Competes in the 1,500 meters. He almost didn’t make it due to a knee injury. You can follow him on Twitter and on Facebook.

Andrew Wheating: Competing in the 1,500 meters. You can follow him on Facebook and Twitter.

Galen Rupp: Competing in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters. He is the current American record holder at 10,000 meter.

Becky Holliday: Competing in the pole vault after a bit of a long road.

Cyrus Hostetler: Competing in the javelin. Currently ranked third in the US. You can follow him on Twitter and on his blog.

Rachel Yurkovich: Competing in javelin. She brought home two NCAA championships for the Ducks. You can follow her on Twitter.

Keshia Baker: Competing in women’s relay pool. She was 2010 PAC-10 athlete of the year and two-time NCAA champion. You can follow her on Twitter.

Additionally, Canadian Brianne Theisen will compete in the heptathlon in London and Australian Zoe Buckman will race the 1,500 meters.

Make sure to root for the ducks! Click here for the schedule of events.
